We're into branding, communications, digital strategy, website design, website development, gaming ... and CANDY! It's true. We're geeks at heart and all things sugary (or loaded with caffeine) make us happy. Plus we like to doodle on our brainstorming/inspiration chalkboard, shown here.

A Successful Website is More Than Just Attractive.

A website design must be developed to meet the specific needs of your visitors while navigating them through the interface process you want them to follow. Using our Website Psychological Profiling™, IdeaEngine will work with you to define and distill the exact website design requirements for your project. We use the following best practices to dive into the minds of your website visitors:

Competitive Analysis

Competitive analysis is the process of identifying and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of current and potential competitors in your market and industry. This insight is essential in creating your own marketing strategy as it helps you craft your own unique message, capitalize on competitors’ weak points, and truly differentiate your organization. This is through a blend of proper marketing, website design and high quality branding and print collateral.

Audience Refinement

Marketing works best when your website’s visitors really feel like you’re talking to them. But in order to do that, you need to have a very thorough and precise definition of just who your website audience is. We take a scientific approach to website audience refinement. We’ll conduct research via your staff, your current website analytics, competitors websites analytics’ data, and more to arrive at a complete picture of what your website design and marketing strategy should be.

Persona Development

Armed with information about your target audience, we’ll take this data one step further to create one or more brand, product, and competitor personas. Personas are fictional characters created to represent the different user types. They help define and bring to life the goals, desires, buying/consuming styles, and general personality traits of the group. Creating a persona often helps you answer questions about how to present your brand and website by simply asking yourself how the persona would do things. Why is this important? A persona often turns out to be your customer, if you can predict what your customer would wnat to see and feel through good website design, marketing and branding there is a much higher chance of converting that opportunity into a lead or a sale.

Requirements Definition

In order to make sure you’re fully satisfied, we want to understand all the requirements for your website, from the grand goal (“We want to sell more widgets.”) to the minute (“The phone number is required on this form.”). The requirements process captures and prioritizes all of these requirements in an easy-to-read document to ensure accurate communication between team members before and during development.

Site Maps and Wireframe Creation

A site map visually represents the navigation and flow of the pages on your website design, while wireframes are a line-drawing of each page and the elements it will include. We produce complete site maps and wireframes in conjunction with functional requirements so that the functionality of your website design is completely spelled out for your review. This process makes for faster and more economical development in later stages of the website project.

Keyword and SEO Analysis

Using what we’ve learned about your industry, competitors, and audience, we begin the process of selecting keywords early in the process. This knowledge allows us to optimize the flow of the website design around keyword-rich areas, as well as providing the copywriters a basis for optimization.
